Credits vs Usage: How We Changed MITPO's Pricing, and What Happens at Your Limit
Credits now pay for images, video and voice. Everything else runs on usage, Assist keeps going past your limit, and Agent is free to try. Here is how it works.

Key Takeaways
- Credits now pay for one thing: making images, video and voice.
- Usage covers everything else, including chat, Agent, research, copy and competitor reports. You see it as a percentage, with a 5-hour limit and a weekly limit.
- If you run out of usage in Assist, the chat keeps going in Auto and tells you when your full models are back.
- Agent is now free to try on the Free plan.
What is the difference between credits and usage?
Credits are a balance you spend. One image or video takes a set number, and you can see the price before you make it. That suits generated media, because one video can cost far more to make than one image.
Usage is an allowance that refills. You don't count each message. You watch how much of your limit is gone, and it comes back on a timer. That suits writing and research, where nobody wants to do sums before asking a question.
Most tools now mix the two. MITPO used to charge credits for some text features too, so you had to think about your balance before writing a brief. Now the rule is simple: if it makes a picture, a video or a voice, it uses credits. If it doesn't, it runs on usage.
What uses what on MITPO
| What you do | What it uses |
|---|---|
| Images, video, voiceover | Credits |
| Assist chat and Research | Usage |
| Agent | Usage |
| Copywriting and campaign briefs | Usage |
| Competitor reports and idea validation | Usage |
What each plan includes
| Plan | Price a month | Credits | Weekly usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100, once | A small allowance |
| Starter | $19 | 500 a month | Base |
| Growth | $49 | 1,700 a month | 3x Starter |
| Scale | $199 | 7,000 a month | 13x Starter |
| Team, per person | $69 | 2,700 a month | 3x Starter |
| Team+, per person | $219 | 8,000 a month | 13x Starter |
Credits you buy in a pack never expire. See the current numbers on the pricing page.
What happens when you hit your limit?
This is what we most wanted to fix. You're halfway through a draft, you hit a limit, and everything stops.
Now it depends on where you are:
- In Assist, chat keeps going in Auto. A short note says when your full models are back, and you can't pick another model until then.
- In Research, you still get an answer in Auto, without the live research run.
- In Agent and other features, you can wait for the reset, upgrade, or turn on credits to carry on.
There is still a daily ceiling on chat, so one account can't run it without limit.
How does that compare with other AI tools?
Limits that refill are now common. Claude's help page describes a five-hour session that starts with your first message, plus weekly limits, and says you can wait, upgrade or use usage credits. Google says its Gemini limits refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly limit, and that subscribers can continue on Flash-Lite when they reach one.
Our approach is closest to Gemini's: keep the conversation moving on a lighter option. We apply it on the Free plan too.
How to try Agent for free
Agent takes a task and does the work, rather than only answering. On the Free plan it runs at Quick. To open it:
- Verify your email.
- Set up your brand.
- Send 3 messages in chat.
Then pick Agent in the chat box, on Home or in a new chat.
Where to see your usage
In Agent, open the ring beside the chat box. You'll see your limits, reset times on your own clock, and your credits. See all opens the full view in Settings.
FAQ
Is MITPO getting more expensive?
Plan prices did not change. Credit amounts did on Growth, Scale, Team and Team+, and Starter gets 50% more weekly usage. The table above has the current numbers.
Do my bought credits still work?
Yes. Credits from a pack never expire.
Does chat ever use credits?
Assist doesn't. In Agent, credits only come into it if you run out of usage and choose to turn them on.
Why not make everything unlimited?
AI costs real money per request. Refilling limits keep the price fair for everyone, and letting chat carry on in Auto means a limit doesn't stop your work.
