User Data Deletion

Last updated: May 20, 2026

How to remove MITPO's access to your Meta accounts and request deletion of the data we store about that connection.

1. Overview

MITPO connects to Meta (Facebook Pages, Instagram Business, Meta Ads) on your behalf so we can publish posts, manage campaigns, and report on results. You can remove MITPO’s access and request deletion of the data we hold about your Meta connection at any time.

This page documents the two ways to trigger that deletion and what happens after you do.

2. Delete from inside MITPO

The fastest path is to sign in to MITPO and disconnect Meta from inside the product.

  • Sign in at https://www.mitpo.io/login.
  • Open Settings → Connected Accounts.
  • Find the Meta tile, click the menu, and choose Disconnect.
  • MITPO immediately revokes the OAuth token with Meta, soft-deletes the connection row, and queues your tokens, page tokens, IG user ids, and ad account ids for hard deletion within 30 days.

3. Delete from inside Facebook

If you removed MITPO from your Facebook account directly (Settings → Apps and Websites → MITPO → Remove), Facebook automatically calls our Data Deletion Callback. You do not need to take any extra action.

When the callback fires, MITPO performs the same soft-disconnect and 30-day hard-delete schedule as the in-product flow.

4. Confirmation tracking

When Facebook calls our callback, MITPO returns a confirmation code. You can paste it into the status page below to verify that we received and processed your deletion request.

  • Status page: https://www.mitpo.io/data-deletion/status
  • Confirmation codes are prefixed with mtpo_ and contain 24 hex characters.

5. What we delete

On disconnect or deletion request, MITPO removes:

  • Encrypted Meta user access tokens.
  • Encrypted Page access tokens for every Page you linked.
  • Instagram Business user ids, usernames, and profile picture references.
  • Meta Ads account ids, currency, and status snapshots.
  • Per-connection sync metadata (last sync time, last error, scopes granted).
  • Any cached Meta API responses tied to your connection.

6. What we may retain

We retain a non-identifying audit log of the disconnect event for security and abuse-prevention purposes. That log records that a disconnect occurred and when, but does not retain your access tokens, page tokens, ad account ids, or content you published through MITPO.

Content you previously published to your own FB Page, IG Business profile, or Ads Manager is owned by you and lives on Meta’s platform. MITPO cannot delete posts or campaigns from Meta on your behalf after disconnect. To delete that content, edit or remove it directly inside Facebook, Instagram, or Ads Manager.
